Call for trainers for the ITACA training

We are looking for trainers for the “Improved Treatment and Care Access (ITACA): Treatment Cascades in Central and South East Europe”- Training that will be organized in cooperation by the European Aids Treatment Group (EATG) and the Network of Low Prevalence Countries of Central and South East Europe (NeLP) and will take place in Warsaw and is currently set for Friday, 13th May to Sunday, 15th May 2016.

Deadline for applications is Sunday, January 17th 2016, at 23:59 CET.

The aim of the training is to build capacities of civil society organizations from Central and South East Europe for the advocacy on universal access to treatment as well as to provide basic knowledge about HIV test–treat–retain cascades and their use in the context of outreach, counselling, testing, linkage to care, adherence and advocacy. The training will help civil society organizations to better understand what data, stakeholders, conditions and commitments are required for developing reliable treatment cascades and equip them with skills and knowledge necessary to assume an effective role in this process in their countries.

The training will cover the following topics:

Day 1: Training on advocacy for universal access to treatment and diagnostics
- Meaning of universal access to treatment
- Advocacy tools for universal access to treatment
- Universal access to diagnostics
- Site visit to a local hospital/organization in Warsaw

Day 2: Training on the development of HIV treatment cascades
- Conceptual framework for monitoring the cascade of HIV testing, care and treatment services
- Examples of treatment cascades and their use
- How to analyze the HIV test–treat–retain cascade
- Data requirements for construction of a cross-sectional cascade
- Outline of cascade analysis reports
- Identification of barriers for developing treatment cascades

Day 3: Treatment Cascades in the Central and South East Europe region
- Exploring how communities and civil society organizations can contribute to the development of treatment cascades in the Central and South East Europe region
- Specifics and strategies for data collection in the region

The remuneration of trainers is 175 EUR per training day and 105 EUR for the preparation of the training.
